MevoCem
What is MevoCem?
MevoCem is a versatile, ultra-low carbon engineered cementitious binder designed to meet the needs of a wide variety of ready-mix and precast applications. Currently available at our UK-based Mevo A1 Production Facility, MevoCem is formulated to exceed industry standards, ensuring superior performance while drastically reducing carbon emissions. Our product enables sustainable construction without compromising on quality. MevoCem represents our bold first step on the path to net zero cement.
MevoCem is made using our groundbreaking production process combining cutting-edge technology and innovation:
1. Low-Carbon Feedstocks
Mevo uses industrial byproducts, waste, and low-value, abundant natural materials as feedstocks, future-proofing our product supply chain and boosting the circular economy.
2. Alkali Fusion
We activate the cement using our proprietary alkali fusion process, which makes the materials reactive without any heating or kilns.
3. Digitally Enabled
We use AI and ML to identify feedstocks from industrial byproducts, optimise formulations, predict performance and streamline manufacturing.

How can MevoCem be used?
MevoCem was designed to exceed industry standards, including the criteria set out for safe use and specification of ultra-low carbon cement within BSI’s code of practice, Flex 350.

How does MevoCem compare to ordinary Portland cement (OPC)?
Compared to ordinary Portland cement (OPC), MevoCem has:
- Significantly lower heat of hydration
- Superior chemical resistance
- Enhanced strength – MevoCem responds positively to accelerated curing regimes typical in a pre-cast environment
- Up to 85% emissions reductions
