About Material Evolution
Material Evolution is a group of five artists working in fiber in the greater Denver Colorado area. We originally met five years ago through the Front Range Contemporary Quilters, a 200 plus member group that serves the Front Range. One of our members has relocated but continues to be a vital part of the group, communicating through the internet and participating in the group's annual retreat.
The development of each member's individual artistic vision is our primary focus, supported via group meetings for critique of our work. We work with various fiberart techniques, including piecing, hand and machine quilting, painting, collage, hand-dyed and hand-discharged fabric, batik, beading and other embellishment, and computer digitized machine embroidery.
All members of the group have displayed their work in national juried exhibitions. Material Evolution has presented its own group shows as well. In preparing for these professional quality exhibitions, we combine our individual talents from the initial proposal phase to the installation and promotion of these exhibits. We hope to share our visual expression with the public and educate them on the various aspects of this exciting medium.

2006 Television appearance on DIY's network show Uncommon Threads produced by Screen Door Entertainment Televison (SDETV), producer Kimberly Austin. Members will appear in episodes #103-Scratching the Surface, #122-Changing the face of Quilts, #148-Dyeing to quilt.
